Science Communication for CIN Ambassadors

Science communication is the art of making science simple and easy for everyone to understand. Through the programme, students will gain knowledge and skills to communicate Singapore’s biodiversity and nature conservation-related topics to the public.

This programme is part of the Youth@SGNature initiative which provides youths with platforms to engage with nature and motivates them to be stewards of biodiversity conservation and greenery.

Learning objectives

The Science Communication for Community in Nature (CIN) Ambassadors programme aims to:

  • Train students to carry out nature outreach activities in creative and engaging ways that are relatable to the general public.
  • Expose students to various communication techniques and allow them to pick up different skill sets that can be used for nature outreach.
  • Nurture students to develop an interest in, and appreciation for, Singapore’s biodiversity, and contribute to conserving our natural heritage.

Programme structure

Open to upper primary levels, students will have to stage a performance based on a biodiversity-related theme and perform it to the school.

A module comprises 2 to 3 interactive workshops. Each workshop is 2 to 3 hours long and will be held in the afternoon.

The module may not be offered every year.
